The Queens Hall Summer Edition

Welcome to the Queens Hall Summer programme and, boy, do we have a great line-up to look forward to which ranges from one of the world’s greatest soul artists, Richie Havens, to one of Wales’ most acclaimed break-through bands, The Storys.

But first, we have to mention, not one, not two, but three BIG parties we are planning to celebrate our 50th year as one of Wales’s most vibrant arts and music venues. On October 11th we have the Queens Hall Gala Dinner as our official celebration of our half-century. Book early as numbers will be limited due to the number of special guests we will be inviting along to celebrate with us. Tickets are available now at £30 per head (£250 for a table of 10), so book early to avoid disappointment.

We should also mention Narberth Civic Week (21st -26th August), which has given the Hall the opportunity to stage some special events throughout the week.

On top of that, we are planning the biggest ever Boxing Day Bash, one of our most popular events of the year, and an even more stupendous New Years Eve Party to close the year in style. Watch out for our next programme for more details, but put them in your diary NOW and make sure you join us for at least one of these memorable evenings.

But before all that we have the summer and autumn events to look forward to. Highlights for the summer have to be The Storys. These guys have been hitting all the right headlines with their infectious brand of melodic pop rock that has won them many plaudits and support slots with the likes of Elton John, Katie Melua and Sinead O’Conner. This is one gig not to be missed!!

And then there is the phenomenal Richie Havens. Brought to the Hall by our old friends SPAN, make sure you don’t miss one of the USA’s finest soul ambassadors.

We are also featuring local band The Afternoons. The band are about to have a VERY memorable summer. Tune in to our website closer to the gig for some exciting developments!

Our acoustic nights, too, are going from strength to strength, with sets from one of Australia’s best bands, Bluehouse, who have the very talented Brit singer songwriter Claire Nicolson in support.

We will also be featuring the fabulous big band sound of the multi-award winning Midlands Youth Jazz Orchestra. If you like your music loud and infectious, these incredibly talented young musicians are for you.

Finally, we can’t go without mentioning The Animal’s with special guests, Spencer Davies on September 6th. Any one who knows anything about the British music scene will know what these guys have contributed to the British rock and pop story. Surely your summer won’t be complete without seeing these guys perform!

But do you know the best news? We’ve worked very hard to bring our ticket prices down for the summer. We know how hard it is out there in this present economic climate, but rest assured we will continue to make each gig as attractively priced as we possible can.

Without a doubt, we believe this summer is one of the best programmes we’ve put together at the hall for many a year. Make sure you enjoy it with us!
